New VIVA resource: Docuseek2 Essential Films Collection available Jan. 2021 - tcassidy - 12-07-2020
Initial announcement 12/3/2020:
"Thanks to CARES Act Coronavirus Relief Funds provided by the Governor for streaming media content to support online and remote education at the public institutions, VIVA is acquiring the Docuseek2 Essential Collection for all public institutions with three years of access... Access is scheduled to start on January 1st, 2021, and more information about enabling this access will be provided soon.
The Docuseek2 Essential Collection includes almost 800 of the most recent and popular titles made available for streaming on Docuseek2 from their distributors, which include Bullfrog Films, Icarus Films, Film Movement, MediaStorm, First Run Features, and more. These documentary films are in a variety of subjects, including education, healthcare, science and technology, and critical thinking.
An additional acquisition using the Coronavirus Relief Funds is expected to be finalized and announced over the next few weeks.
