Only by using the secured portal link can faculty get access to a full preview of EBSCO ebooks available for purchase. See 'Advanced Search' - Limit your results - 'Ebooks Available for VIVA Purchase' to locate this type of material.
In both the open and secure portals, currently owned VIVA ebooks display the same way. Only the secure portal will provide a full preview of an EBSCO book VIVA does not currently own. For example, compare a VIVA-owned and VIVA not-owned title in each portal:
