From Dr. Sebastian's message to the OER Peer Group list:

"I wanted to let everyone know that I will be leaving my position as the VCCS’s Director of Teaching and Learning Technologies on March 15 to become the Director of Programs and Policy at Achieving the Dream. In my new role I will be overseeing ATD’s new OER Degree Initiative (if you haven't already, check it out! http://goo.gl/OoAYcj) which will fund the development of OER degrees at 20-30 institutions in the US and Canada.

This national initiative would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of all of you, Virginia's OER pioneers. The OER movement is beginning to have a real and significant impact on students across the country, and you, the faculty and staff of Virginia's community colleges, deserve credit for taking a risk, rolling up your sleeves, and doing the hard work that has turned the promise of OER into a reality.

I am hopeful my work with the VCCS will continue in my new role, and I look forward to supporting VA as it continues to lead the way in scaling and supporting open education.
