Overdue and Billing During the Pandemic
#1
Hello,

My name is Terri Ruffin and I work at Tidewater Community College. Our Circulation Team is gathering information on overdue and billing during the pandemic. We’re interested in knowing how other libraries are handling past and current overdues/billing during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thank you in advance,

Terri Ruffin

Hi Terri,

At PVCC, we set all due dates to the end of the semester.  Overdue notices will run at the end of the semester, and we will bill students as normal.  We held off billing for spring 2020 items because our building was closed March 18-August 3.  We renewed everything from spring 2020 through October 1, and then we processed those bills a month later.  I also made an effort to call those students, which we don't normally do.  Fall 2020 items were also due at the end of the semester, and we billed a month later using our normal process.

Hope that helps!
Jacqueline
