BC Open Textbook Collection MARC records available

[tcassidy]

MARC records for BC Open Textbook are now available for download. Records are here.

Each college library has the means to add all (or selected) open textbook records to their particular library holdings, if they choose to go this route. The VCCS shared catalog does not include these records, since this is a collection decision that needs to be made per college.

[jdessino]

For the colleges that want to include them, will/can they be added at the system level the way that the old Net Library books were, where it indicates which colleges can access?

[gdamon]

We could load the records, then colleges could add a holdings record for the titles they want to have.

[gsnyder]

When/if these records are loaded at the system level, would you let us know, please? I know that we at Tidewater will want to add holdings records for selected titles.
Many thanks,

We have a small Aleph support team convening next week to look at questions like this during the transition period. I will keep you posted.
