eBrary/EBL Platform Migration 5/9-10 - tcassidy - 05-02-2017

ProQuest will migrate our VIVA eBrary titles (ebrary Academic: Science & Technology collection + 43 VIVA owned EBL titles) and local VCCS DDA titles to the new Ebook Central (EBC) platform next week. EBL will migrate on May 9th, and ebrary will migrate on May 10th. On these dates, the links will redirect to the new EBC platform. Per ProQuest, these redirects will be in place for at least five years.

Questions
1.    Will we continue to access these ebooks from our catalog?
Yes - there are no changes to Aleph records. Per ProQuest, all links will redirect automatically.

2.    Will the admin username/passwords for individual libraries the same?
Yes. Librarians with existing logins to EBL LibCentral will receive a “Welcome letter” when EBL sites upgrade on Tuesday, May 9 that includes a link to LibCentral, the administrative and acquisitions module for Ebook Central. The EBL LibCentral URL will redirect to new LibCentral. Existing LibCentral username/passwords will continue to work.

3. Post-upgrade, will students be unable to access DDA titles they checked out before the upgrade?
Since the move is being done after the semester is over, and VCCS only offers 1-day loans, this should not be a problem. ProQuest is happy to address any problems of this nature, should they arise.
