MLA on Ebsco - dgray - 07-30-2019 According to an email from Ann Osterman last month, MLA is switching to Ebscohost on August 1: VIVA PRODUCT CHANGE: MLA has gone exclusive with EBSCO for both sales and discovery. For VIVA, this means that our subscription will change from ProQuest to EBSCO on August 1st. ACCESS: The URL for MLA International Bibliography with Full Text is: https://search.ebscohost.com/login.aspx?authtype=ip,uid&groupid=main&profile=ehost&defaultdb=mlf. Please note that the subscription is not active in EBSCOadmin, and the link will not work until it is, which is scheduled to be August 1st. Do we have a linker for that yet? Thanks. RE: MLA on Ebsco - jdessino - 08-01-2019 The existing Linker code should work. That was the point of the linker codes. The change gets made by the SO to the master linker code and the libraries don't have to do anything! Of course, at TCC we stopped using the linker codes a while back, so I will have to change the code on my SpringShare A-Z list. BUT, today is 8/1 and MLA is not yet showing up on my list of EBSCO databases. Does anyone else see it yet? RE: MLA on Ebsco - jcarrell - 08-02-2019 MLA is showing up in the list (at least at PVCC), but it's at the very bottom and not alphabetically. I had to login to EBSCOadmin and click the databases tab and then click the "order alphabetically" button. The change isn't showing up yet, but my guess is it will take effect tomorrow. RE: MLA on Ebsco - jdessino - 09-03-2019 MLA has disappeared from the EBSCO database list. clicking on the MLA specific link just brings up the EBSCO database list. Where did it go??? Is it just me or did you all lose it, too? j RE: MLA on Ebsco - jcarrell - 09-03-2019 It's still in our list at PVCC... RE: MLA on Ebsco - dgray - 09-03-2019 Our direct link still works. RE: MLA on Ebsco - jdessino - 09-03-2019 Thanks for the quick replies. I guess it is just TCC.
RE: MLA on Ebsco - jdessino - 09-03-2019 Well, it turns out that I never had it! Apparently, after my first post at the beginning of August, I went on vacation and never checked that TCC had MLA!! |
