Cataloging manual - helpful guide or other - need printed documentation - jwalz - 06-13-2023 All - I had created a Cataloging and Processing Manual for DCC in 2019 when Alma was new to us and we had new people. BUT the MDeditor is really changed and I need to update my processes and provide up to date screen shots. Especially for the copy cataloging area where we find a record on WorldCat, import it, add holdings, an item and so forth. I need details for this process and can find NOTHING on the ALMA help pages. Has anyone already created this?? Or anything else that you want to share? I am really grateful for TCC already sharing their document. I am happy to share mine when updated. Please contribute if you have something - especially for the import single record process. ![]() Thanks! RE: Cataloging manual - helpful guide or other - need printed documentation - mmyers - 06-13-2023 Are you using FirstSearch/Connexion and exporting to Alma? Or are you using Search Resources in the Alma MDE? I don't have anything typed and don't have screen shots, but I can type my instructions up pretty quickly without screen shots if that would be helpful. We are doing the "search resources" thing. I DID find some screen shots around the interwebs and have put something together. It will do for now, but maybe we should spread the love in the VCCS? :-) I am going to share what I came up with as soon as it is reviewed by our staff who do the work. They will let me know if I have left something out. If anyone else has something, please do share! Jennifer RE: Cataloging manual - helpful guide or other - need printed documentation - infoprobh - 07-24-2023 I've put several TCC documents in this forum. As I write them for TCC staff I place them here as well. |
