Hello all,
Please see this message from VIVA, and invite your distance education/edtech/instructional design folks to join.

"Dear Library Colleagues –
Please forward this message to those who work in educational technology areas at your institutions. If you would help connect VIVA to those groups, we would very much appreciate it! For those of you who haven’t heard of VIVA, we are Virginia’s academic library consortium.
It has become clear in much of VIVA’s work that our shared online library collections and open & affordable course content efforts increasingly interrelate with educational technologies. We know we would benefit from conversations with experts in this field and that our initiatives would be improved by their advice.
In order to create a space for these library and education technology cross-conversations, VIVA has created a listserv, VIVA-EDTECH, for people in the broad educational technology field, from LMS managers to experts in teaching online to digital project designers to instructional designers, as well as librarians who want to join in these conversations. This is different than previous VIVA listservs in that we expect that many of the participants may not be administratively linked to the library.
Anyone who is interested in joining the new VIVA-EDTECH listserv just needs to send an email request to viva@gmu.edu. This listserv will be an opportunity for educational technologists at any VIVA member institution to connect with each other about concerns they share, as well as a place for feedback and advice about VIVA initiatives.
Many thanks –
Anne.
