In terms of LMS integration for LibGuides, my understanding is that a college needs the LibApps CMS module to do very much beyond linking. If you have that, then these are the instructions for Canvas integration.
LibApps LTI: https://ask.springshare.com/libguides/faq/1214
How to get config key info: https://ask.springshare.com/libguides/faq/1235
To request this integration, please have your college LMS admin submit a Canvas LMS ticket.

Is any college planning on installing the Automagic LTI Tool for Springshare? We are talking to our college LMS admin about it.

I think we are, but I am, thankfully, in charge of that.

Erin-
did you use Stepped Search or Translation Table when you set it up? If you could share your all your set up options I would appreciate it. It's always nice to see how other people decided to handle all the options.

This is one of the reasons I'm begging you all to get rid of LincSite and use something else so we can all communicate more effectively. I didn't even know there was a Canvas forum to follow. I've had the LTI integration set up at TNCC for 6 months and could have assisted with this. I know Cirrus has it done at PDCCC as well.
We used the stepped search. We've currently got 65 guides mapped and will probably have 75 by the end of the summer. Let me know if there's anything specific I can help with.

Corey-
Thanks for responding. Let me ask a couple of things:
Is the LTI parameter name to match against for Canvas "context_label"?
And when you tag individual guides with the metadata, I assume if you have a generic guide for English you just tag it "ENG", and if you have a guide for ENG111 you tag it "ENG111", but what does the metadata look like for a specific course section of ENG111, for example? I'm guessing it's just "ENG111[section number]" but I haven't gotten any examples yet from our Canvas person of what the Canvas data that we'll be matching looks like, so I'm just guessing right now. I'm curious to see what guide metadata looks like for another school.
Thanks!

David,
Yes to the parameter name. The metadata name is lti (that's a lowercase L) but it's been several years since creating that, so I don't remember if I chose that or if it corresponded with something.
As for the metadata, we use ENG or ENG.142 etc. based on TNCC (VCCS?) naming conventions. I haven't done a section guide so I can't say, but I think it should match what the convention is. In looking back through my emails, this is what convention we used in 2016: HIS.121.01H.SP16
I hope this makes sense! Our Canvas admin has worked with us pretty extensively on this and with PDCCC so I can put you in touch with him to clarify if needed.

Thanks - I appreciate the info.
I have faith our Canvas person will come around. I think he's just been super busy and he's out this week.
