Hello,

Wondering where to start with open textbook publishing? Pub101 is here!

About Pub101
Pub101 is a free, informal, online orientation to open textbook publishing for Open Textbook Network members. Together we'll explore Units 1-5 in the Publishing Curriculum <https://canvas.umn.edu/courses/106630>, which includes adaptable resources and templates. You’ll hear from colleagues who have worked on open textbook publishing projects and about what they’ve learned.

Facilitators
  • Karen Bjork, Head of Digital and Scholarly Publishing, Portland State University
  • elle dimopoulos, Access Technologist, ZTC/OER Specialist, College of Marin
  • Corinne Guimont, Digital Publishing Specialist, Virginia Tech Libraries
  • Amanda C. Larson, Affordable Learning Instructional Consultant, The Ohio State University
  • Liz Mays, Director of Sales & Marketing, Pressbooks
  • Michael Miller, Scribe Production Manager
  • Carla Myers, Assistant Librarian & Coordinator of Scholarly Communications, Miami University Libraries
  • Elvis Ramirez, Scribe Project Manager & Book Developer
Feedback
Comments from previous Pub101 participants:
  • I feel like I have a much better sense of our capacity to publish than I did before, and that is hugely helpful.
  • guest speakers... had much in advice and tips not just "here is what our program looks like" or "this is what accessibility is"
Who can participate in Pub101?
Pub101 is designed for OER librarians and others managing open textbook projects and programs. It's open to everyone in the OTN, and consortia are welcome to extend this invitation to their institutions.

7-8am AEST / 11am-12pm Hawaii / 1pm-2pm Pacific / 3-4pm Central / 4-5pm Eastern

Connection to the Co-op
