ProQuest’s Academic Complete and College Complete Collection vs. EBL DDA
#1
As you know, VIVA picked up ProQuest’s Academic Complete and College Complete Collection (approximately 150,000+ ebooks). Some of us who still subscribe to EBL’s DDA program were wondering about the overlap between the collections. I spoke with Dave Wiley on Monday, February 4th and went through the pluses and minuses with continuing with the DDA program, and learned that there is only about a 800 title overlap between the two collections. ProQuest will de-dupe these titles so that if the title is in both collections, a college would not be charged a STL.

Please note that those of us who have the DDA program will need to manage it locally; it will not be managed at the SO. Jacqueline has figured out how to manage the EBL collection in Alma, so if you’d like her to share her process, please let me know. Also, if you are continuing with the DDA program, then please contact Dave Wiley to set up your college's own deposit account.

If you have any questions, please let me know.

Thanks,
Crystal

Thanks for doing this Crystal! TCC took over management of our part of the DDA several years ago, so I am good with that, but I don't have it set up in Alma yet. I would love to have Jacqueline's step by step instructions so I don't have to re-invent the wheel. Smile j

Hi all!  I haven't gotten the Ebook Central DDA collection working in Alma just yet.  I have a ticket in with Emily to set up an integration profile, but it does seem pretty easy.  The instructions are here:   https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma...ok_Central

The first thing you need to do is submit a support case to ProQuest to get them to enable automated holdings for Alma in Ebook Central for your DDA collection.  After that, Emily sets up the integration profile and it sounds like it runs automatically.  No other maintenance required.  I haven't gotten that far yet, so I could be wrong...but I will let you know when I do!
