What is your college doing with OER?
#1
Hi everyone,

I'm doing a presentation on OER at the VCCA annual conference next month.  I'm going to talk about what OER is and how it's being used at VCCS colleges. I know the shared VCCS and VIVA resources, but I'd like to get a better idea of what individual colleges are doing. I've checked out the college websites, but many of them don't go into much detail.

Is there something really great your college is doing?  What kind of courses now use OER?  HAve you had an open textbook workshop? How about a VIVA Open Grant winner?

And since I aksed I should probably share some of what Tidewater is doing with OER.

There are a variety of courses taught with Open Education Resources like English, History, Biology and even Music.
We had an Open Textbook Workshop this summer, which proved popular.  We're still teaching our OER training faculty development course.
There has been a renewed interest in open and affordable course content amoung the faculty.
Our OER libguide was just updated.
