Please identify which of the possible times/days you would be available for the training session by going to
Question Point Training Poll. Voting ends at noon on Friday, 6/6/08.
I used Doodle, rather than just posting a poll on the discussion board, because it requires that you enter a name, which the discussion board does not. Please enter a recognizable name as that will help me determine the coverage.
If you cannot attend the training session, it will be recorded and made available, and there are also training documents available on the QP web site,

Although the QP training is web based and can, therefore, be viewed at an individual workstation, to provide the best training experience the trainer recommends that the trainees gather together where they would have at least two workstations, 1 for the patron view and 1 for the librarian view.
If you have at least 2 staff members who cover LRC Live, please plan to 'attend' the training together in a location with at least 2 workstations. The training will also require a phone for the audio portion.
Where there is only 1 person at the college who covers LRC Live, or only 1 person available for the training session, please contact the nearest school that provides coverage to see if you can 'attend' together.
Any school who can host their colleagues, please post that info here.

Training update:
At the admin training session the trainer said that there really won't be much time for hands-on activity during the training, so it shouldn't matter if you are 'attending' by yourself.
I still think it would be good to do the training together if possible, so we can help each other. Plus, a group usually thinks of more questions than an individual. You could also do some immediate practicing if you have some time right after the session.
Whichever way you do it, don't forget to test your workstation in advance. Jacque

We are now 5 weeks into QuestionPoint and I think everyone will agree that OCLC just did not provide enough training! There are several pieces of QuestionPoint that we aren't even using yet, but we don't get any more training from OCLC.
I am trying create some additional training sessions, but I need your help.
In addition to some webcasts, I would like to do some regional, face-to-face workshops. (If you have been with LRCLive a long time, you will remember that I did something similar a few years back) I can do some refresher training and we can all share tips and tricks.
First, if you think you would be interested in attending one or more webcasts or workshops (conducted by me), please let me know so I can see how much interest there is.
Second, if you would be willing to host a workshop, let me know that. We'd need a hands on lab with all the browsers configured for QP, and maybe a few refreshments.
If there is enough interest and I can pull everything together by Monday, I will try to submit a VCCS Professional Development Workshop Mini-Grant Application for Spring (the app is due 10/1!) Even without the mini-grant, however, we can probably do the workshops if there is enough interest.
If you have other suggestions for training, let me know! jacque
