The next install of QuestionPoint is tentatively scheduled for November 23, 2008 at 7 AM GMT (2 AM ET). The new install will include the Forms Manager for chat forms and other enhancements, including a new look and feel for the Flash Chat interface. Take a look at the improved librarian chat interface with Carol Bonnefil, who will take you on a tour of the key features and answer questions. In order for the new QuestionPoint update to work, you must have Flash Player version 9.0.124.0 or better installed in your browser. To check your current version today, right click on your chat monitor and click on the Flash Player option from the drop-down menu. This will take you to the Adobe Flash site where it will identify the version installed.


If you do not have version 9.0.124.0 or later, update asap. If you don't update, after November 23 you will receive an error message and a link to the download site when you attempt to bring up your chat monitor.

Dear QuestionPoint users:
Wednesday evening at 9:00 p.m. Eastern Time (0200 GMT, Thurs., Dec. 4), we will install a few tweaks and fixes to the new Flash chat interface. This installation will not require any system downtime, but you will need to log out and back in again to see the changes. Here is a list:

New: A toggle feature to allow librarians to switch between an "elapsed time" view and a view that shows server system time (the time shown previous to November 23). Click on the clock to change back and forth between the views. Your chosen view will persist through future logins, but you can always change it simply by clicking on the clock again. To see the other view without changing the option, just mouseover the clock.
New: The Patron Info tab has been added to the left frame of the ended session screen. You can now see both the chat history and Patron Info for an ended session, while setting the Resolution or Descriptive Codes or adding a patron or librarian note.
Fixed: Patron institution scripts now load correctly per patron session.
Fixed: On the ended session screen your Enter key now works, as well as the Send button, to add a Librarian Note.
Change: You can once again send URL scripts straight from the Scripts tab, using your Enter key or the Send button.
