Brainfuse Costs
#1
Hi All,

This isn't really library-related, but if you have advice regarding this, I welcome it.  With the change to Brainfuse, our online tutoring usage has become astronomical.  Have there been any schools in the VCCS that have managed to reel in the costs?  We don't want to limit student usage to a certain number of hours, but frankly, I don't know what other options there could be.

Thanks for any insight.

Mary.

At VWCC, we have limited each student to 5 hours per semester and we included that limit in all of our marketing. If they hit the limit, Brainfuse allowed us to customize an auto-response encouraging them to reach out to our tutoring coordinator to discuss their options. So far, we have added additional Brainfuse hours for some students (easily done online) and have referred others to our face-to-face tutoring options on campus, depending on their needs and whether they are regularly on campus for classes. It's working out pretty well so far.
