Each year we tidy up the patrons in Alma by removing users who are past their "purge date," which should be one year after they have expired. Any users who have active loans (including lost loans), fines, or fees on their accounts will not be purged. I'd like to remove these aged-out users on Friday. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to me.
Also, in the future, if your library would ever like to waive fines/fees based on size and/or age, it is possible and straightforward (i.e., to remove users more than X years expired, with less than $Y.YY owned) and I would be happy to lighten our patron load on these cases! I know several schools have moved away from fines/fees in the last few years.
